Postwar United States (1945-1970s)

The economic boom that followed World War II transformed the landscape of American life, and revolutions in science both propelled the economy and fueled the cold war. Wars in Korea and Vietnam were costly and demoralizing. At home, the civil rights movement made major strides toward equality for African Americans.
