Revolution and New Nation (1754-1820s)

Numerous acts issued by George III spurred the colonists on to revolution. Inspired by Enlightenment ideas, their founding documents for the United States have guided the nation into modernity and provided models for other governments across the globe.

    Debating the Constitution

    Students will investigate multiple viewpoints on the U.S. Constitution and use 21st century skills to synthesize the various opinions on the nation's founding document.

    Declaration of Independence

    Students will discover and interpret the principles and grievances detailed in the Declaration of Independence through a collaborative, technological art project.
