The 20th Century since 1945 (1945-present)

Following the destruction of World War II, this era included the formation of new nations, many of which arose with the overthrow of colonial occupiers. Reform movements bloomed in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia, while societies across the globe participated in a global communications revolution.

    Independence in Africa

    The students will trace the course of African nations through the colonialism process to independence and evaluate the effects of that process on the continent of Africa.

    Ending Apartheid

    Students will use Web 2.0 tools to interact with Nelson Mandela's Inaugural Address, identify his goals, and contemplate the commonalities between the end of apartheid and other civil rights movements in history.
