About the Author

According to adherents, Londen Nyingpo wrote down the gZi-brjid verbatim in the latter half of the fourteenth century, after hearing the scripture from a supernatural sage. From an historical point of view, Londen was a poet who wrote this and many other Bon texts. He was born in 1360 in the Khyungpo region of Kham, a Tibetan region that has been broken up into areas now incorporated into several provinces of western China.
