  • Apostolic descended from Christ’s apostles, particularly Peter, the first leader of Christianity after Christ’s death
  • Confirmation the sacrament by which a person entering adulthood is confirmed in his or her faith
  • Council of Nicaea a council of church fathers held in Nicaea in modern-day Turkey; the first such council was held in 325, the second in 787.
  • Eucharist the sacrament of Holy Communion by which, according to Church doctrine, bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Christ
